Ross Butler is McKay’s Northland Maintenance Manager, bringing extensive experience in electrical infrastructure, maintenance operations, and contract management across some of New Zealand’s most demanding industrial and public infrastructure environments. A NZ Registered Electrician with a strong technical background and proven leadership capability, Ross has built a reputation for delivering complex maintenance and upgrade projects safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
Having joined McKay in 2007 as a Maintenance Electrician, Ross has progressed through a range of operational and leadership roles within the business, including Site Supervisor and Contracts Manager. His career progression reflects both his technical expertise and his strong capability in leading teams, managing client relationships, and overseeing large-scale infrastructure programmes.
Ross has extensive experience managing streetlighting and infrastructure maintenance contracts, including major contracts for local authorities such as Queenstown Lakes District Council and Far North District Council. His portfolio has included LED sports field lighting upgrades, pole replacement programmes, and large-scale maintenance operations requiring strong coordination, commercial oversight, and stakeholder management.
As Northland Maintenance Manager, Ross oversees maintenance operations and service delivery across the region, ensuring projects and contracts are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the quality standards McKay is known for. He works closely with operational teams, engineering personnel, clients, and contractors to ensure resources are effectively managed and maintenance programmes are delivered efficiently.
