Brad Telfer is McKay’s Manager, Project Delivery – Northland, bringing more than 20 years of experience across the electrical, infrastructure, and energy sectors. With a strong background in project management and operational leadership, Brad has built a reputation for delivering complex projects safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
Since joining McKay in 2019 as a Project Manager, Brad has played a key role in delivering a diverse range of major projects throughout Northland and beyond. His portfolio includes significant infrastructure and renewable energy developments such as the Ruakākā Battery Energy Storage System for Meridian Energy, Kerikeri Wastewater Treatment Plant, Whangārei Civic Centre, Hundertwasser Art Centre, Naumai Solar Farm, Pohe Island Carpark Lighting Upgrade, Horahora Sportsfield Lighting, the Ngāwhā OEC3 and OEC4 expansions, and numerous projects at Channel Infrastructure.
In 2024, Brad progressed into the role of Manager, Project Delivery – Northland, where he now leads project delivery operations across the region. His role includes overseeing project teams, supporting business development, strengthening relationships with clients, iwi, hapū, and stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. He is also responsible for growing and developing teams across multiple disciplines, including electricians, apprentices, supervisors, and project managers.
Brad combines strong technical knowledge with practical leadership and a highly collaborative approach. He has extensive experience managing large teams and coordinating complex programmes of work, ensuring effective communication and alignment between clients, contractors, and operational teams throughout all stages of project delivery.
Known for his proactive and solutions-focused leadership style, Brad is highly regarded for his ability to navigate challenges while maintaining strong performance, safety, and quality outcomes. He places a strong emphasis on team culture, customer relationships, and continuous improvement, helping to strengthen McKay’s capability and reputation across Northland’s infrastructure and energy sectors.
