Stuart is a highly skilled Manager and Electrical Engineer with 20 years of experience within the commercial electrical industry. Stuart has held key roles within an expanding group of businesses, including transition, operations and project management. Stuart is very analytical, structured, process and goal-driven, thriving on bringing the best out of people and teams. He has a proven track record of team building, health and safety, and client relationships.


Stuart Archer is McKay’s Regional Manager for Waikato and the Western Region, having joined the business in April 2022 as Hamilton Branch Manager. His progression into the regional role in September 2025 reflects both his strong leadership capability and the impact he has made in a relatively short time, building a high-performing team and a positive branch culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and trust.

With more than 20 years of experience across the commercial electrical and construction sectors, Stuart is both a qualified Electrical Engineer and an accomplished senior manager. His career has spanned operational, project, and general management roles, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the technical, commercial, and people aspects of the industry. This breadth of experience underpins his practical, solutions-focused approach and his ability to lead effectively in complex environments.

Since joining McKay, Stuart has become known for his hands-on leadership style and his genuine commitment to developing his people. He places a strong emphasis on health and safety, quality delivery, and continuous improvement, while also ensuring that systems, processes, and reporting frameworks support efficient and transparent operations. His ability to balance technical rigour with strong interpersonal skills has seen him build trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues.

In his role as Regional Manager, Stuart is responsible for supporting and guiding teams across Waikato and the Western Region, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes while driving sustainable growth. He remains focused on strengthening capability within his teams, enhancing client partnerships, and continuing to build on McKay’s long-standing reputation for reliability, innovation, and service excellence.
